Introduction
This unit is
about identifying opportunities for change, modelling the change process to
produce expected outcomes.
Scenario
Learners may use
their own employment context, or that of another organisation with which they
are very familiar, to base their assignment. However, in the case that they are
not able to do so, please use the below scenario: -
You are a
manager, leading a department in a medium sized company. One of your roles is
to show how your department will change and develop in order to maintain the
competitive advantage over rivals. Currently your department is based over two
sites and you have been asked to decide if your teams should be relocated to
one site.
Task 1:
Conduct an
analysis on the organisation to determine the organisation’s position in the
sector and market within which it operates. From your analysis identify an
opportunity for change which will support the organisation’s objectives. Where
possible identify how this change will give competitive advantage over rival
organisations.

Task 2:
Select a change
process method or model and discuss how it can be applied to an organisational

Evaluate the
positive and negative impact of this change process and how this is monitored.

Task 4:
Identify which

Task 5:
Construct a
management plan to demonstrate how the change process will be implemented and
how it will be monitored. The plan should identify how individuals in the

addressed to measure the level of achievement.
Describe how to
secure support for the plan from senior management by making a business case.
